    • Yes, i have the freezing mouse/keyboard problems on an AORUS Pro Wifi Mini ITX with X570 chipset. It does not offer the disableling the PCI Gen 4 support from the BIOS. I tested my trusty Logitech K400, even bought a new one and had the same problems even after upgrading it with the latest firmware, Rapoo Wireless Touchpad keyboard, and a Microsoft Wireless Touchpad keyboard. All of them have the same freezing problem. It does not matter wether the dongles of those keyboard are plugged into usb 2.0, usb 3.0 or usb 3.1 ports of this motherboard. This is also not driver based, since the freezes/hangs also happen in BIOS without any operating system dependencies, and strangly certain flavours of linux seem to be less affected then other or windows 10. The hangs and freezes were not present when using wired keyboards or wired mice. I also found a work-around by connecting a cheap KÖNIG USB 2.0 hub to the motherboard and then have the dongles connected to that. That fixed my problems instantly and more freezes/hangs in Linux or Windows. I included a random link that shows that hub below. I do not know if any USB 2.0 hubs might fix the problem, which is quite possible as i only have and tested this one which i had laying around. www.bol.com/nl/p/konig-4-poorts-usb-2-0-hub-zwart/1003004011156692/

    • Depending on how you define failing, my 5900x is failing to talk to my keyboard and mouse randomly. And it’s such a big issue that AMD has finally legally acknowledged the failures related to the B550 and X570 boards paired with the 5000 series GPUs relating to completely dead USB ports or ports dropping out randomly. Just checking out readit and other IRworld channels, I’m willing to bet AMD’s failure rate is much higher but I have no actual statics yet to prove how many people actually have this issue but it’s definitely more common when running 4.0 settings for NVME M2 drives and band-aided by downgrading the bios to run 3.0 instead of 4.0. Interestingly enough, the intel gpu’s aren’t having this issue using the same mb manufacturers equivalent boards to the amd boards with the 5000 series chips. I think some new poles need to be done on that failure bc it’s sounding much higher in forums on readit for my failure

  • Making mining only cards ONLY increases the price for gaming cards. Miners now have two options to buy new. However the gamers now have less supply on the secondary market, meaning used prices stay high. It also means supply of new gaming cards are less, as the same internal components get split between gaming and mining, during the manufacturing process.

  • AAGH I WASTED SO MUCH TIME WITH THIS STUPID USB ISSUE!! I asked on several forums and no one had a clue what the problem was. Sometimes, my keyboard would only be detected if it was plugged in via a hub, other times it would only be detected if it *wasn't* plugged in via a hub. Sometimes it wasn't detected at all. I messed around with BIOS settings for weeks, dismantled the entire system and rebuilt it, exchanged every peripheral for a different one, but still no dice. Somehow it's in a stable state now and I will never ever change anything ever again.

  • Unfortunately, two days ago I build pc with Asus TUF B550m plus, ryzen 5 5600x and evga 3070. Everything seems to be ok until I installed amd chipset driver. From that momet my 3Dmark score drop to 2700 points! (normal score is 12400 points for 5600x+3070) I was looking for problem for hours. GPU run ok, with ok frequency but was cold, it take only 160W of power. After checking forums I tried to set PCIe to 3.0 and it is working. But I didn´t change my motherbord from B450 to B550 to not go on spec :( I tried update lates bios. That seems to better score in 3Dmark to 7700points (power 190W), but still not good as it should be. I found on reddit some post where some guy has similar problem and it helps to change secure boot from other os to windows uefi. It sound crazy, but I try it. New score was 9700points in 3Dmark. Here I end. I finish trying PCIe 4.0, I put it on PCIe 3.0. At least I can play some games. Maybe I should complain the board, or sell it and buy intel.

  • Setting PCIE to Gen3 is for 99% of people a perfectly acceptable workaround. Unless you are running a heavily overclocked 5900X+, with lots of RAM and a Geforce 3090/6900XT type video card with a couple of GEN4 M.2 NVME drives you'll never need PCI Gen4's bandwidth....PCI Gen3 will be more than enough and you will not be bottle necked.

  • My 5950X would cause WHEA failures several times a day until several BIOS updates later. Still have the issue of bluetooth (and USB ports) temporarily disconnecting when running Photoshop or SVP videos in 4K. There is literal "noise" when my headphones are connected via 3.5mm jack and I run 4K SVP. Something is wrong with those voltages. Hopefully another BIOS update will fix it. Really hate to RMA, but we'll see.

    • @Walther Penne Good to know, I changed my PCI-E NVME M2 4.0 drive to a 3.0 after talking to another IRworldr on his channel who said his issues were resolved after doing that since we had similar setups and the same issue. But still, we both spent a couple hundred extra to have the faster drives so this is a temporary patch well AMD figures this out. It’s not cool to pay for a product that is advertised to run newer harder only to find out it actually can’t run it without causing serious hardware crashes and failures so we have to run drives at half there capable speeds. So far, no more issues but I haven’t pushed my graphics card to hard yet like i did maxing out black ops cold war settings for my 3080 tuf gpu over a 3hr session which was the only time my 3.1 usb ports dropped out and luckily came back online after 10seconds. Oh yeah the intel thunder is 100% gone AF for now due to AMD rolling in and a heavy kick to the intel face! Right now intels best thing going for them are the newer m.2 PCIE 4.0 SSDs and server based stuff. Everything else they are selling is for system manufacturers because no one with enough know how to build their own machine is going to pick intel right now. I prefer intel stuff because what they sell "just works". but in retrospect AMD stuff can't even manage to maintain USB connectivity! How screwed uo does shit have to be and get for the functions of USB slots to just randomly stop working? That is rough, and what is more important is that in the cases people resolved the issues they had to turn their PC into a build from a few years back before PCIE 4.0 came out since you have to change the bios settings so that the PCIE lanes run at 3.0 instead of 4.0! All the madness is not limited to just PC stuff either. It is in every major market right now. It is a mad house everywhere you look! lmfao

  • Hey man I just bought an Omen computer with an AMD Ryzen 7 3700X and Radeon RX 5700 and when I updated my drivers for the graphics card and started the install my computer restarted itself. It did it every time I tried to update adrenaline. Now my computer refuses to start windows and is in what seems to be an endless restarting loop. I can’t even try to attempt to reinstall windows because my computer always restarts during the process. Is this some of the problems people are facing? Any suggestions? Thanks!

  • Hi, I just build a computer with a Ryzen 3 3200G which couldn't be detected by the MSI B450M Bazooka motherboard, so this could be such a failing one. Glad to hear a solution, this is just my 2e build, monday I'll return the Cpu. thanks

  • I am experiencing the issue of getting my headset disconnected from the USB hub, so I've had to work around and connect with the AUX-output on my monitor. More concerning to me though is, that it seems to effect my Corsair iCue connections as well (these are obviously through internal USB 2.0 headers, so no real deviation from the original symptom) which is worrying me a lot because I am afraid it might lead to my H115-cooling pump not spinning and therefore frying my CPU. Furthermore the display output of my 3080 Aorus Master does not seem capable to collect data from anything anymore, so it is just showing "0 W TGP" or "0 degresse Celsius". If there is a BIOS Update it is terryfying to think I might brick my Mainboard because the USB-Stick might get disconnected during the process of Updating the BIOS and I'm not particularly amazed about the outlook on having to slow down my PCIE Connections because I did not pay this much money to compromise on performance to be honest. They need to put a fix out SOON. Do you have any recommendations where to reach out to?

  • Had the USB problem on my setup. Wasnt a problem from the start though, but only started about 3 to 4 weeks ago. 5800x /Corsair H100i SE / Asus b550 Gaming A / MSI 2080 / Corsair RX 750 PSU. Only thing that hellped "Permanitly" was setting everything to PCI 3.0 That dosent hurt me since i dont have anything that has PCI 4.0 but still annoying.

  • Does this concern Threshripper 3960x as well? My mouse and keyboard keep freezing all the time. I will try to set PCIe3 as well and see if that works!

    Kristian KückKristian Kückپیش ماه
    • Yes. Amd Threadripper uses AMD Ryzen too and thus is affected too!

  • This secure handshake may effect open source drivers. Nvidia already has a bad reputation for Linux support. This might further hurt that.

  • Thank you for bringing attention to the AMD Ryzen USB debacle Paul. I have just built a new rig which I need for editing content for my channel and I am being plagued by the USB disconnecting issue. I have been AMD for about 3 years and have loved it but this time I am seriously regretting not going Intel. I hope AMD sort this before I chuck my ASUS X570 Pro and 3900x in a bin and start again. PS switched to PCIE3.0 in BIOS and still no joy... Many thanks again... Dwight VGASM

    • I reckon:It can help to switch to older PCI-Express...But i predict. This will only help you for 1-2 years, then issues will come back. lol That`s just how it is.

  • So last night I shut down as per normal and went to bed, got up next day to a Razor Black Widow keyboard not working correctly. To say it was spazzing out was an understatement, I couldn't log in and I would press 1 key and it would stream up tons of that letter. Rebooted, changed keyboards all similarly not working, tried a 3rd diff keyboard and everything worked. So I thought yeah, my keyboard is busted, so I tried it on my wife's PC and the keyboard worked fine, so I plugged it back in my PC and it worked absolutely perfectly. To say I was confused is an understatement, until I saw this video and now it makes sense. I updated bios to latest version which has "fixes" in it for USB stability so lets see - Gigabyte Gaming X and a AMD 3600.

  • i have a 3800x in a 570x aorus elite , i dont really have my usb's dying but i have my whole PC dying. Random artifacts and crashes or self restarts. I already tried many things and nothing seems broken, the only thing i cant change is the gpu( 5700xt). I might try taking it down from pcie4 to pcie3 and pray it fixes the daily crashes.

  • Yep I got my Ryzen and had tons of crashes and instability. Returned and got intel instead. 0 issues now. Sure the Ryzens after faster, but I don't really care if there's the tiniest bit of instability and I can't really trust it and know if its gonna crash during critical work, don't have time to mess around with MB settings and volts etc hoping the random crashes would stop, I just want a system that works!

  • That's Intel's strong marketing team's game! cheating consumers on TDP. real world 250w and marked 125w

    Yi ZhouYi Zhouپیش ماه
    • that is the same like AMD, it says on the paper somethinig like 70 Watt TDP, but in realtity it consumes the full 140 Watts which is the max possible for the mainboards. lol

      Walther PenneWalther Penneپیش ماه
    • Nobody cares about tdp. If saving power is so important for you, you should not buy a computer.

  • Definately something not right.I have brand new Gigabyte VisionD 550 MB + Ryzen5 + all new components + Mint Linux .Everything was fine in beginning but For some reason I lately started getting flickering black screens for a couple of seconds then everything is fine again and then random blackscreens for couple of seconds are back. Bios was updated 2 months ago during build and no other hardware was installed or any changes since initial build.??? So there definately something spooky going on somewhere.

    joe joubertjoe joubertپیش ماه
    • It´s not "something spooky". I predicted heavy cpu-issues for all vendors in the year 2025 ;) Intel will get these issues next...just watch! oh: And apple, of course.
