corsair Aio is crap! since 4ever! be quiet Aio‘s and Topflow cooler are freaking awsome 😍
I really like your build montage music
That pump block being higher than the whole radiator = bubbles in the impellor pump which = dead pump.
I have that noctua cooler, unfortunately, it is loud as fuck... not really their fault it is just physics wins at that size, however I was able to fit a NH-9US instead and it is a night and day difference in performance and noise.
res/pump could fix it
Why do people even want those mini-cases/PC that are always a pain in the ass to cool, a pain in the ass to upgrade and build because everything so freakin tiny... Plus it ain't like you gonna be able to hide it in a drawer or something, it still gonna be standing there on your desk like a regular rig, so why even bother ??
I built a PC using this case but used the be quiet! pure loop 120 liquid cpu cooler, took awhile to fit though!
I would like to suggest that you inform people at the beginning if your videos that these are not "How to" videos but more for "entertainment purposes only." If you mounted your AIO that high above the reservoir then you are not a PC builder; you are a hobbyist. There's nothing wrong with that as long as you let people know so that they don't think that this is the way you do things when building a PC.
This is why I avoid liquid coolers.
Not your fault ,the case just sucks.
de cooler is ded
Seems like the tubes could have been fine if you could verify the outgoing tube and make sure that was notably higher than the pump, could have trapped the bubbles there.
Pump allways dies in these stupid pieces-of shit! Beware guys!
just turn it upside down. Duhh
I personally would've went with the Scythe Big Shuriken cooler. I think it will fit better in terms of size and appearance. There is also very little difference in cooling and noise performance compared to the Noctua cooler.
Kind of funny how this video gets recommended to me while I have exact same AIO cooler that just died on me today smh
Could have spent 10 mins to spray paint the fan black, if you couldn't find an RGB one of the appropriate thickness
Just a quick question!!! Hi!!! Hopefully this is a small problem...I'm building daughter machine with the Phanteks Glacier D140 Distro plate and with the Asus TUF Z390-PLUS GAMING Mb only has RGB 4 pin HEADERS. The Phanteks Glacier D140 Distro plate has three pin Digital headers that wont connect to this motherboard for our new build . Is there a another accessory i need to purchase from frozen pc to get the phantech d140 to work converter box or controller box I need.. Or is there something else i can buy from best buy or a local puter store to fix this so i can get her machine up and running with the phantech d140 lit up :) This would really help us out alot... thanks D.
That fan color though... :(
My ML120 in Phanteks Shift Air died after 1 month, literally 88C during idle
Noctua needs more black Chromax products. NH U12A !!!!
The pump might not have been bad I would of checked kinked toobs it looked like one was getting cut in half by the psu. How would I think this because I just built a mini itx pc with the CM NR200 with a 240 soon and ran into the same problem bought a new aio still same problem then realized the Toobs were a bit to bent. So I moved things around and gave them more room to lay naturally than bam it all runs perfectly cool and quite now. Honestly I would have just switched to air cooling also aslong as it took me to troubleshoot I'm done with aio in small forms for a bit after this one.
More proof that water-cooling is not worth messing with.
Do AiO setups have enough sensors and trend analysis so that like HDD SMARTadiags they can warn you of impending failing or fail components via active alarms instead of just letting your systems cook?
How come the PSU fan wasn't spinning during the test boot?
U put heatsink on bottom....
Should've gone Noctua, I switched from AIO to Noctua a long time ago.
follow up . chop tubes, remove the little plate and propeller in the pump block, re tube with a new pump and win
You installed the cpu cooler wrong
I can't believe Chad gave you his login info for his toon. Said the guy that gave his FFXI login info to like 7 people back in the day. Before 2FA.
Hyper 212 gang laugh at your AIO issues.
Have a 5800X with AIO that reaches CPU temp of 85 c. Can prolonged use at these temps cause damage to an AIO?
wtf corsar !!!
that aio is why i no longer buy corsair
be quiets AIO would work as well since the pump is in the hose about an inch in front of the rad
The quick fix, before it broke, would have been to turn the case upside down.
Thank you.
I had the same AIO h80i 120mm and its pump stopped working after 3 months mine was set up so the pump was at the lowest point so maybe a bad batch of Corsair pumps
My friend who builds budget gaming pcs as a part-time job is considering stepping away from watercooled, because the pumps keep on dying and the machines keep coming back. Even when top-mounting the rad.
Why would anyone want to use such a small case with zero air flow for building a gaming computer? It is even worse than Dell's infamous XPS 8940. :)
Kinda sucks to be honest, this case is not even capable of holding a water cooler then even if it has a mounting location.
nevermind haha closing thoughts i get it
For some reason amazon frequently likes to just put a shipping label on my items and ship them. I've gotten items that most certainly should not have been visible to anyone(value wise) and I'm just lucky the amazon employees are honest enough to not take it directly and people walking down my street didn't notice it on the porch.
My Corsair H100 died 2 times, and the third time it was out of warranty, I got the H100i v2 back 2 times because they didn't had the H100 anymore but the last time like I said it was out of warranty. I got the Artic Freezer 2 now, hopefully it's better then Corsair AIO
This AIO is shit, I had it in a proper configuration and it leaked on me after couple months of use.
Chad is such a chad... kucheemonstr lol
Flip it upside down! And let it run!
So that's where all the 3080's are going! To the you-tubers. I can't watch a video without hearing about 10 of them from a tuber, yet I've been trying to get a FTW3 for over three months now and haven't even come close.
You mounted those heatpipes in the wrong direction: noctua.at/pub/media/wysiwyg/images/faqs/top_flow_orientation.jpg
chocoTaco needs a new streaming PC and it would be great if you built one for him! Hit him up!
I would like to have seen what you changed the fan profile to? I am about to switch form an AIO 240 to a Noctua NH-D15 Cuz if my AIO leaked on my Strix OC 3090 I would be scared for life.
Finally a video from someone not talking about a graphics card!
That build is a tight squeeze all around but, if it were me and I had your amount of PC hardware lying around I would've opted for lower profile non-RGB ram before altering that Noctua cooler :/
This Noctua cooler is one ugly MF. It works though, so... good enough, I guess. Not sure how this Corsair AIO is made, but if there is a connector available to monitor pump RPM - might be a good idea to connect it to CPU_FAN header, this way motherboard will freak out when CPU_FAN is 0 RPM, and obviously, you could monitor its speed through bios or hwinfo64 (or any other monitoring tool) instead of guessing. Anyways, even though AIO installation was less than ideal with pump in the top - lifespan of 3 months is just laughable. Either Corsair makes crappiest coolers, or there was some other reason for this failure...
Isn't there a way to drain the air from the AIO? A valve you can press on to to open? I never used nor desired water cooling for this and other reasons...
Hi paul can build my pc ?? , i lve in africa , i will pay you 🙈
Be quiet crappy AIO could work when pump is near the rad.
I was curious to see if you just turn around the pump block 180 degrees (with the tubes down) so the highest point would be somewhere on the upper size of the pump block, maybe it would of been fixed? But yeah, air coolers never fail no matter how they sit, :-)
12:03 - No, this wasn't the fault of any of the components. You installed the AIO poorly and it broke just like people warned you it would. 100% builder error here.
Great info but I have to say that the fan colors of the air cooler are hideous I wish if they had more normal colors like black or white all in all great video 👍
Great. just burp the aio by turning it upside-down. that is what we do for heating a house closed loop system or refrigerator. add a burping container above to collect air and fill.
just use the stock cooler, they work fine
How about using the system as is, but in the horizontal?
"Your theory"? It was everyone's theory it would fail and overheat when you originally built this. It was obvious it was going to die and there was no reason at all to overheat this system again just for a video... SMH
Every CPU cooler Company: Let's make it RGB so it'll look badass and suitable for every build. Noctua: let's make it Brown....sh*t brown to be exact.
Has the same aio broke within a month couldnt figure out why my pc wouldnt turn on could get to boot sometimes then sometimes not found out the pump broke and was overheating my cpu
i dont follow orders i buy cheap aios never had any issues since 2010.i just replace them every 3 years or so.maybe i have a aio fairy watching over me i dunno.i been screwed by corsair never again
that's weird your aio went out i bought a cheap zoom flow from Newegg over 2 years ago and sitting same way still runs at 25c idling one of my cores right now is 21 typing on youtube ..45c gaming on a 9900k no troubles yet,240 one and i run it hard no changes yet.I don't trust corsair i have bought 3 high end keyboards from them and they all dyed like a few days after warranty ended. They wouldn't stand behind them.
why didn't you just use the system upside down?
When I was building with this cooler, I read that this orientation of heat pipes, like an upside-down 'U', can cause higher temps by like 6-7 degrees. The water inside can't move from the cold side to hot side as easily.
It's true, I had a similar thermalright heatsink that showed a 3°-5° difference depending on pipe orientation. Unfortunately, Paul didn't have much choice here because it would only fit the one way.
Why did u not add a extra fan where the radiator was?
They have some AIO's with the pumps in the rads or on the lines themselves that would have worked in this build.
I love my noctua NH S15
Trfc is 990. That's like atrocious as buildzoid would have put it.
My Corsair H55 is 8 years old now. Spent its entire life with the pump mounted above the rad. Still running strong.
at least the case didn't erupt in flames...
The pump lasted 3 months? I'd say defective. Theres a reason I outright refuse to use corsair anything. It's all overpriced crap. But that's just my opinion.
This is very weird since the curve of the tube is above the block. Air bubbles should be there, not in the block, except if the amount of air inside filled all that space.
Another video that shows air cooling is better then water cooling
Chad has a character named "CoochieMonster" , because of course he does 🙄😂
My wow character names are fluffythunder, tadphlascid, msmanager and deathtofurries (vulperian deathknight)
I had my first aio rip is impeller apart so i feel ya
Is big oof relevant?
That was a really convoluted way to say I'm going to orientate it this way lol
My h115i died aswell but, after almost 2 and a half years(had the pump in the middle of the rad so no problems there.. it just died). As it offers 5 years warranty I contacted Corsair and they opend up a RMA. Had to ship the AIO at my won expense. Received new AIO, the h115i pro rgb and sold it. Bought an air cooler :)
Corsair Vengeance LPX all day!
Why can't you just flip the PC upside down?
I don't trust AIO that much , air cooler are better and cheap
I never had a problem with AIO's but my pc is near an AC due to hot weather and nothing can compare when next to the AC, sorry fanboys I trust my experience.
No more AIO just because ONE AIO died ??? And what if your air cooler dies ? you'll blow on ?
Wouldn't the NZXT Kraken M22, with it's pump-in-the-rad configuration, be a better fit here if you insisted on using an AIO?
The problem is build up over the center of the cpu block cooling fins blocking flow, you can disassemble it, clean the block with distilled water and a plastic brush/gentle plastic scraper and reassemble it with minimal coolant loss or top it up with distilled water and done. Copper will be discolored under normal use/age. FYI the seal only goes on one direction. Just did it to mine 1 week ago , it was a 10 minute fix. Unit is a 6 years old h100I v2 NOTE:: use a proper sized screw driver and apply plenty of force.
I would use the barrow pump/res/cpu block combo to eliminate the air bubbles
Hey, Paul, I have a situation where my Aorus B550 pro ac light does not turn on, that strip by the VRM, can you help? I only got it 3 weeks
Great video. You built a rig, knew that things may not be the best. Get the rma from your friend, own it, show it to everybody, fix it. 10\10 would bang. Youre a standup guy.
Would an nzxt aio with the pump in with the radiator fins cause the same issue or no? Technically the pump is below the block, but the air would likely still pool in the cpu block, so idk.
be quiet! PURE LOOP 120mm would have been the proper route to go
Please consider posting your videos on Odysee in edition to IRworld. =)
Paul, most likely failed due to rad being at the bottom of the case, there was probably air bubble in the pump section
Honestly? On the 5600 X the Wraith would have been fine
Teach Chad what hwmonitor is, not hard to keep an eye on your temps.
